homologation question

In the weight thread there is some thinking about old cars having a different weight versus newer cars which brings to mind a question.

My question is when does a car need to be re-homologated? I'm not even sure there is a requirement for that. Perhaps this is more a class requirement? Once a car is built and homologated to race as a DSR, is it forever homologated as such? Is there any amount of change to a given car, yet remains in the homolgated class, that would require a...

DSR in CSR questions

Couple of questions.

1) Before you could run C in current D trim (1000cc/900lbs). I guess now, that line has been deleted and a D car has to run under C rules. So, in the C table for motorcycle engines I see 1300cc max and 1100lbs. This means, to run my car leagally in C as it sits now (w/ 1000cc), I have to add weight and slow car...

Wavier Fee

Since I did not race in 2008 I'm applying for a waiver. In 2007 when I wanted to go to the Runoffs the national races in Southern Pacific Division were less costly to attend so I changed my Region of record to Cal Club in SoPac and thus I have to apply for the waiver in SoPac.
SoPac charges a $25 waiver fee on top of the $90 National License fee.
Is this common in other divisions?

I have a simple question about the intent of following DSR weight rule.

"Minimum weight of all chain and belt-drive cars is 900 lbs., with driver. All other cars are 1000 lbs., with driver."

What is the intent of the rule? 99% of guys are now running bike motors and chains so it probably never came up. But why is there a 100lbs weight break for using a chain? At first read it is counter intuitive, but I'm sure there is just cause. There are a...

Here is a picture of the car mentioned in the post about this past weekend ButtonWillow Double National. Personally I felt the car should not have been allowed to compete under 9.3.3 unless they put on a bra or halter top. Ok, I have made the decision and am taking the leap of faith, grew up watching the Can Am cars run at laguna and sears, met Bruce Mclaren and all the greats, always wanted a SR, ended up racing stock cars, bikes and spent the last 9 years racing IT and EP, won a championship in a RX7 last year and now its time to get back to where I wanted to start in the first place. Only sorry there is no class for v8's.

I will build a C/SR with a stock RX8 Renesis engine so it will be...

At 1679cc's with a 11.2:1 compression ratio the engine produces (stock) 197 bhp (@ 9000 rpm) and 124 lb.ft. of torque (@ 6500 rpm) this motorcycle engine isn't exactly (stock) the new answer for C Sport domination but I've been trying to figure out where (if anywhere) this engine might be placed. The latest on-line GCR doesn't have all of the latest engine changes delineated. Is this destined to be an ASR engine? It is a drive shaft engine as well.

Page 9 of the 26 page PDF asks for member input on Head and Neck restraints.

I am sure that there are lots of opinions about this in the xSR community.

I have already sent in my opinion which is to not make them mandatory even though I wear a HANS. I have also asked the CRB to look separately at these requirements for Road Race and Time Trials.
