it looks like an electrical transfer pump from the extra cell to the main cell is the best way to go. This would not need to run full time though - so two
questions -

1 - what happens if a fuel pump empties the extra cell and continues running on 'air'? Good or bad? I assume bad.

have to use a coiled cord to connect it to the main harness on the car - or could I just use a plain 2-wire cord wrapped around the steering column with some
slack and maybe some thin bungee cord to hold it out of harm's way.

As I am building up a bike engined race car for the moment i would be very interested in this method of shifting gears.

I tried to realise this already on my previous project. ( A 750ccm GPZ powered go kart) but unfortunately I wasn't lucky, I didn't find any actuator

I searched the forum and found a lot about quaife etc. but nothing about self made parts done with stock parts from a front drive car.

My idea was to take the differential out of a stock VW rabbit gearbox and put a sprocket on that.

For the beginning i will drive slalom races where an open differential is more efficient than a closed one.

The last two race weekends, I've had curious chain failures on the car.

The first weekend, the chain lasted until the end of the Saturday race. In retrospect, I could hear it going slack around 10 laps in. When I pulled the body
off, all the o-rings were gone, the thing was black and blue from heat, etc. Rear sprocket destroyed.
Before that failure, i'd been having trouble keeping it tensioned, it always seemed to loosen up. Not sure if...

In terms of wiring I'm thinking of just adding a separate starter solenoid into the second battery hot lead. In other words with the starter button not
