Looks like Cooper is the new Lites tire. They have just announced they are the new tire for the IRL/Pro F2000 series as well. I wonder if these are radial and if they will be more competitive against the current spec DSR/FB tires. SHould be interesting.

Yesterday IMSA ANNOUNCES CONTINUED PARTNERSHIP WITH WEST RACE CARS through 2012. With the new LMPC cars running in ALMS next year Lites is poised to have increased emphasis.

Congrats to our alumnus John Weisberg, who won his L2 race at Lime Rock this past weekend. Not without its excitement, John avoided a big moment when he, his team mate, and FOUR L1 cars tried to fit into one corner....and most of 'em found out that 6 does not go into one....at least without fractions!!

The July issue of Racecar Engineering has a statement from Elan Motorsports that they are "currently examining ideas for a new D-Sports chassis, which will be launched in 2009" which will "replace the West in 2010....when West's contact expires." Does this leave the current West owners high and dry?

MILLVILLE, N.J. June 14 - Joel Feinberg took advantage of a mid-race restart to take the lead in
round six of the IMSA Lites presented by Frisby Performance Tire series and never looked back,
leading the remainder of the 45-minute race.

"I was able to get through the gears better than he did," Feinberg said. "I had enough momentum to
stick it out and go deep and then checked out from him."

West WX10 2009 Race Results

Anyone know how well the new West Lites car (WX10) is doing against the bigger Lites 1 competition. Looking at the SCCA results of the new car would suggest that it should be on the top of the score-board. Am I missing something

Allow me to give a shout-out to our local boy Kyle Marcelli, who driving for the Intersport team qualified and finished third in his first-ever IMSA Lites race. Started third and finished 15th in race two. Nice job, I thought.

Hi,

I am very interested in IMSA class. I was wondering if they only allow West and Storh cars? I all so heard that they only allow Kawasaki 1000 cc engine. Is that true? If any one out there can help me, it would be much appreciated.
