There is no prohibition against using a CVT in DSR. CVTs are not considered to be automatic transmissions. Whether or not using one in a DSR would be a good
idea (i.e., competitive) is an entirely different question.

About the competetiveness of it, supposedly the Williams F1 CVT car was faster than its traditional counterpart, before it got banned... Typically they
don't ban things that don't work |

Yeah, but Williams had (and has) a slightly larger budget than the typical SCCA club racer.
