I am looking into a SCCA enterprise sports racer mazda 175hp engine. Which class in SCCA does this run DSR ? I know about IMSA L3 as well. Any other comments regarding car powerpland etc welcomed

The car you are talking about is the SCCA Sports Racer. This is the same chassis with the same engine as the Formula Enterprises car, but with sports racer bodywork. See SCCA Enterprises. The engine is a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder. Because only a small number of these cars have been sold, they are allowed to run in C sports racing. (See section 9.1.9.G in the GCR.) It is not clear if there will ever be enough of these to justify having their own class.

The SCCA Enterprises Sports Racer with the 2.3L Mazda MZR engine (piston, not rotary) is classed in CSR, where is it somewhat heavier and underpowered than the best cars, but I'm sure it is a fun car to drive.
