I think Marc Hoover may have some used McCann bodywork from his original DSR. There was also someone selling the same type of bodywork on this forum - you might check the old posts under parts for sale. Bill McCann is the originator of the bodywork, and he is located in Southern California.
What wheelbase and track are you looking to fit? |

I am thinking about turning my Crossle 71F (FC) into a S2000,
The car is a rocker arm car and is too new for CFC (1991) so I have to run with all the new suspension push rod cars. One problem may be that, unlike the Crossle FF that have square tube main chassis members, mine are round and about 2" in diameter. That may be a big problem to overcome. any good books on how to do your own molds etc? I have a couple of projects for mods to the FC bodywork and could start learning with them before taking on a full SR body. |

I did not know that you could run a single seater sports racer in s2000.
I thought you would have to run a 2 seat car to be legal ? Does any body know for sure. May have to run as a CSR. You can get a body from Ben Beasley Fiberglass. He makes all different sizes. Ships everywhere. Best of luck. Mike |

S2 requires (equal) space for a passenger. No center-seat formula car conversions. If converted, his FC would be a candidate for CSR.

You car looks like this, right?
I'm afraid that David is correct, Rick. An FC cannot be converted to S2000. OTOH, your car would be welcome in CSR. With a 2 liter engine up to 10:1 compression ratio you can run without an SIR, and the head is unrestricted. That means you can put big valves, a roller cam, dual side-drafts...whatever the gearbox will take...190 hp? As far as bodies go, our C/CSR body project is nearly track-ready, and should fit your car with minimal conversion effort. In its basic form, it fits a 64" wide car with a 96" WB, but those are readily altered. Drop me a line at scc1909 at yahoo dot com if you are interested. Regards, Stan |

Shows how little I have read the rulebook.... sorry (guess that is why they call it 'getting started')
So CSR is a possibility. Don't think I can afford the going rate of $35K for an S2000 Stan: that is a picture of my car that I took last year-- where did you find it? yes, I would be interested in exploring the options available, rather than have to build a body from scratch. I have driven only formula cars (FV,FF,FC), so I am a neophite with full-bodied vehicles & I can't see myself in a sedan (unless it is a CSL) I have spent most of my internet time on ApexSpeed.com thanks for the responses Rick |

Charlie,
I was under the impression that the Crossle 71F came with an LD200. You are correct about the Mk5 gears, though. Stan |

This Crossle has an LD-200.
Any chance of other gears working like the MK9/MK5 gears combo? Thanks for the leads to other manufacturers.... |

I don't know about the specific dimensions of your car, but if it's anything close to the Van Dieman FC, there is a nice body available - look under LSR Prince under chassis in the SR Network.
