I have noticed most front diffusers pictured on Mulsanes Corner have at least a small rise in front of the front tire. It must work and since most sports prototypes have wind tunnel time it most likely is not a monkey see monkey do type of thing. I under stand the front diffuser but a expansion just to have it run into the spinning tire doesn't make sense to this monkey .
in this photo the Nissan has a flat front floor except for the rise in front of the front tire. Is this the type of thing that no one can explain why but it has positive results anyway. I have a picture of a Zeus sports racer that has an even stranger rise only in front of the tire. Not trying to directly copy, probably couldn't anyway due to scale but I figure if I had some thoughts on why the rise in front of the tire produced positive results.....
