The Radical guys should feel free to speak up here! Vic keeps getting faster and faster and the debate on compensating heavy cars keeps getting smaller and smaller...is the Radical getting lighter and lighter? or is their engine (they've gone through a couple of brands/model changes) getting better and better? or (God forbid) is Vic the third Schumacher brother?
It hasn't escaped my notice that he isn't the only Radical driver doing well...I pointed out to Bruce Sunseri the other day (Oh! you name dropper) that one of the advantages of selling complete cars is that you don't have to rely on the quality of installation of each of your recipients (people like me). In addition, if everyone uses the same parts tracking down weaknesses is a lot easier.
I'm a little amused that ALL of the current Lee Stohr vehicle's going together (I think this is true) are going to be Yamaha R-1 powered. Yet prior to last year there were no R-1 engined cars (I think this is true as well)....this is a situation that Jim Rawson (for one) hoped to avoid...he wanted to keep the success of the R-1 motor in this application on the QT, at least for a while. The run-offs this year are going to be quite an eye opener...will the Radicals dominate?
Heh, heh, I know that I've stuck a stick in a hornet's nest with that question...remember, "don't shoot the messenger".
