If you note the continued reduction of lap times by the fastest DSRs, the only conclusion is class consolidation - C & D SR. The club wants to reduce class
count. CSR is not healthy. DSR is healthy but as the wunder cars continue their development less differences between the C & Ds will be shown. I also
believe that DSR car count will decrease. I have no idea how to stop a consolidation. However, the speed genie is out of the bottle. Lee, in another post,
stated how exiting it is now to be part of DSR. It is very interesting to see how the DSR has developed speed and technology wise. The club has always said it
doesn't owe anyone a competitive car. Class consolidation will provide a place to "play" but little chance of winning for most of us. Who
doesn't think that class consolidation will be attempted by the club? If it is, are they required to accept the majority opinion on member input? Assuming
that the majority will not support a consolidation.

As of 2/27 the SCCA shows DSR at number 4 and CSR at number 15.
I would not support combining the classes - if anything I think that based on the current state of development at the sharp end of the stick we should ask that D's no longer are allowed to run in C at the current weight. The HP to weight is clearly giving the 900 to 1000 lb D the advantage.

Who says CSR is not healthy? It is currently 15th in participation out of the 30 National classes.

So, Lee, you don't think there is any chance that the club will push for consolidation? If they do, for discussion sake, what would be your response?

As long as CSR is relatively healthy, it is more difficult to justify any consolidation. I'm sure on the BOD some are for and some against consolidation.
I have said many times that I am against combining the classes. Lots of reasons - from cost to historical implications. |

Having not paid much attention to the csr's ,are the atlantic conversion cars at the weight limit for the class?

Dave, we had to add ballast to get up to the minimum weight. Stan

Thanks Stan,I've been pretty busy and not paying attention to what's happening ,while I don't have a dog in this fight/discussion I don't think
that combining the classes is a good idea, largely because some creative builder will come up with a chassis/engine combination that will improve CSR and that
fertile ground should not be thwarted in my view,,just an old guys observation!
