I'm once again considering a move from my Radical to a newer car at the end of the season, and as always, the car that got me into sports racers in the
first place, the 1st-gen Stohr, is on the list.
We all know how well they perform on track, but I was curious if those that have owned/worked with the 1g Stohrs extensively could enumerate some of the shortcomings, annoyances, or common problems they had, on and off track.
For example, a friend of mine is discovering that the one-piece floor can make it a bit troublesome getting to some parts on the motor, whereas the removable rear floor section on the Radical makes that kind of thing very easy. I've been told that they can be tricky to get set up well, and at the last race, my friends with two early Stohrs had 3 out of their 4 ( !! ) lower rear control arms crack in the common spot near the pushrod mount.
PM or e-mail if you don't want to discuss on the forum, although I'm sure others may be curious as well. Either way, I'd be grateful to get a better idea of what I am (or am not) getting myself into in that regard.
Cheers!
