I think the project car was owned by Tom Sedivy.

Thanks for the reply Peter. Know if Tom ever got the "project" up and running?
I saw one of these years ago while stationed in England (RAF Fairford). It was a beautiful car powered by, I think, a Cosworth. Got excited when I saw the project on race-cars.com. Mitch |

Re: Looking for information on AMS cars. Company info, specs of models, etc.
Both of the cars above are now in western Canada and, as far as I know, the only ones in North America. The AMS 277 that Kees is climbing into belongs to Bob Storz. It was the works car in 1977 driven by Francesco Cirelli-Irelli. In the day, the car ran a Fiat based AMS engine and a Cosworth Ford. Today it has a Cosworth BDG. (that is my hand in the rear wing, Bob is standing behind the car) The AMS 276 "project" car, was in the eastern US when it was in the fire, it then went to Germany before being brought to Canada (by Bob Storz) and it now belongs to me. The damage was not as bad as it looked except for some of the aluminium. AMS cars are space frame cars with alloy skins. The paint was still on the majority of the steel tubes and the real chassis damage was fairly minor. Restoration has been started but I don't expect that we'll get it done until next spring. Engine will be a Cosworth BDG AMS = Attrezzature Meccaniche Speciali, they are an Italian company that builds big pumps and turbines. Most of the cars they built were smaller cars than the 276 and 277's. The smaller cars ran mostly 1000 and 1300cc engines, Alfa Romeo and Fiat seem to be the most common. They also had narrower wheels/tires and smaller brakes. Gearboxes are lighter as well, MK8/9 rather than the FG400 and FT200's of the 276 and 277's. If you can read Italian, here is a forum with quite a bit of information about AMS cars. http://www.motorforum.it/cronoforum/viewtopic.php?t=222&highlight= Jim Keller
