Here is a photo of it when it was first acquired. I have some of it completely stripped, (more so than this lol), but will post them tomorrow or this weekend.

Ground up DSR Build |
Lead | ||
|
Hello all! I've recently acquired a DSR chassis through my step-dad who picked it up from a client of his. My step-dad does race car fabrication and is
helping out a ton with this build. The guy we got it from said that he thinks it is an Astech chassis but we have no proof of this. I've read through the
Astech chassis write up on the main page also. The hoop is SCCA stamped with region 33, which I believe is San Francisco. And the chassis code is 1543.
I've e-mailed SCCA to see if they could help me out with tracking down any info on the car. The engine that is going into it is going to be a Kawasaki
ZX-10 engine.
Here is a photo of it when it was first acquired. I have some of it completely stripped, (more so than this lol), but will post them tomorrow or this weekend.

This chassis is NOT an Astech. I have the blueprints that Dale Tholen gave me and this is not even close. I built the car I race using the prints (much
modified).
I have no other clue as to what this chassis is. James |

Yes it looks like a Fox 2 seater, call Bob and ask him to take a look. The front bulk head and steering rack mount, the cross bracing over the foot box, cross
bracing in the driver area, the dash all look like a Fox.

We need some names to confirm it. It certainly looks like a Fox. I assume that this came from Claude Solannis, who owns (owned) both Fox two seater chassis,
the only two in existence. Some more pictures would help. Did you get the logbook?
Unless you're going to run vintage, why are you going to run the zx10? Just about any current motor should fit without any frame mods. |

Thanks for clarification guys! I honestly thought the chassis didn't look like the Astech chassis either. Just didn't look right but it was all I had
to go off of until recent.
Actually got the car from a guy named Ron Hoff who owns another(the other?) exact identical chassis and runs it. And you would be correct on the reasoning for the ZX-10 engine. I will be running SOVREN vintage with it, that and the engine was free which I can't complain about. I did not get the logbook unfortunately, i'll ask about it but i'm thinking he doesn't have it. Again, thanks for the help guys and i'll be updating as things progress. Right now the chassis is at the blasters and then it's back to the shop. Josh

Anyone have any info or pictures, (might be a longshot), of the fox two seater? Single seater chassis hoop area is obviously alot different than this one and
that's all that's on the Sports Racer Network website.

It is Bob's first 2 seater, he was over tonight, he did not know it had left it's last home. The body for this looks just like Ted's bule avitar
with a 2 seat center section. There should be a lot of pictures around.

Here's a bunch of Fox photos - http://sportsracernet.smugmug.com/keyword/fox and http://sports.racer.net/chassis/fox/gallery1.htm In one of the event albums there is a photo of Bob standing with 3 of his cars. |

Josh, contact me off line. I have some history on your chassis. Sent you a PM.
Ron has an astech, which yours is definitely not.

I'll give you a call soon Ted. Been pretty busy with work, life, etc. lol. Got the car back from the sand blasters. Just a few bars that are getting cut
out and replaced. Few cracks and bends. Lots of copper brazing everywhere lol. Got done doing some measurements and blueprints today. Need to post some update
pics too ...

Hello - I am wondering if you have the blueprints of the chassis that you have started to build? I would be interested in a set if possible- Or, do you know if
Mr. Fox has any prints of his plans that he used? If so, if you know how to reach him I would love to talk to him or exchange emails--- I am really wanting to
build/buy a chassis
thank you for your time rudger GT |

How much do you have to spend? I know where a roller Fox single seat chassis is located and its for sale. Near Sears Pt.
Like David said, you can get the chassis plans from A-Mac. |
