Great track day car or run in ASR, Suby 2.0 with minor mods, 369RWHP can tune another 100 in if you wish but reliability will be reduced. A number of mods by
Autosport racing last year. 170 top speed, 2:15 at RA. Can convert to street if you really wanted to. See dyno run here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT2ki...om=PL&index=81. Two sets of wheels, new slicks and rains. 50K Jswilson87@comcast.net for more pictures and info

The motor is a 2 liter...lap time was at a open track day event. Track was same configuration as runoff's, is there any other? |

--The motor is a 2 liter...
Yeah, kicked myself for not deleting that before I hit send! --lap time was at a open track day event. OK, so that time is not "official". --Track was same configuration as runoff's, --is there any other? Well, actually, I'm pretty sure at some times they use a chicane, but then the time you gave would not have made sense. From past, I've learned to just ask, to prevent some confusions & wild goose chases. I'll admit, I do not know much about Sakers, and searching, seems to not be as simple as for some things. Where was this car actually built? (NZ?, Belgium, Germany, USA?) When was it built? When did you buy it? (new? or used?) About how many hours have you used it? Have you done any actual race with it? How many 'similar' Sakers are in the USA? Somewhere it seems 'they' claim 270 hp, What did you do to raise it to 369 rwhp? |

The 2:15 is with me driving and son on a stop watch. The car is better than me, there is more to be got in the car, especially in the breaking zones. Car
was shiped to US as parts from NZ and put together here in the US. Only 3 others in the US, 3 race cars and 1 street. I bought it with about 20 hours on the
car, but new engine and trans. It has a slightly larger turbo, header and pro-tuned to run on race fuel. You can add another 100hp for a couple of grand.
Very easy engine to modify.

Lee, do you now have a car? | #5 | ||
|
Lee, do you presently have a car? I have seen you responding to sale ads for the past couple of years on this site and others. You used to be pretty active
over on the Diasio site.
Is there any particular type of car you are interested in? Tom |

Yes Tom, I currently have:
1. an Elden that started life as a 1972 F3, (the one shown in the small picture attached) it got converted to 1600 VW power and got a SR body put on in late 70's or early 80's, blown up & sat in piles & pieces in airplane hanger from about 1991 until I bought it (on a silly whim) in 2005. I've done 1:34s with it at Pacific Raceways, (You'd think it should be able to do 1:30 ?) but seems to be more work than fun. I'm not enjoying the mechanical work, and probably never was any good at it!!! 2. a GP Thunder Roadster made by 600 Racing for me in 2004 (yeah, like a Legend on steroids!) and I've done 1:39s at Pacific Raceways with it. (previous cars, FWLIW: I did FV in late 1960s, a Forsgrini with PBS DOHC Fiat 850cc DSR I took to Runoffs, and a Mazda RX7 1st generation) "What do I want?" (first off a digression, what I have no interest in is a Stohr and to butt up against long time friend Dick Boggs!) I want an interesting fun car for what will probably be my last race car purchase! And for what ever reason I'd like a two seater! (Probably more later, but now send 'as is') |

WOW!
Sweet car! Sure wish ASR would become a national class. Me being a Mitsubishi guy, I'd swap in a 4G63 engine and make a realiable 500whp on a stock engine all day. Never seen one of these before, really cool!

It's a fun, fast car, very easy to maintain. Only selling to get back into vintage. I came out of vintage a year ago (1970 BP corvette) because my son
was showing interest in racing and this is a good starter car with the two seats. He has now lost interest...teenagers. I may think about vintage
sportsracers but my 1st corvette (1965 BP) is for sale and if I can this sold I will buy it, I built it in the 70's.
I have been "offered" a trade for a vintage sprorts racer, I am going to post it here to see what others think. Jeff |

Yes, please do keep keep in contact and keep us informed.
For those who cared some about this, but were not watching: Several days ago on the ebay auction, somebody bid $40,000. Here Jeff posted that the reserve was $41,000, so ??, it would seem a deal should be close. But? |

Adopt ME!! | #12 | ||
|
Jeff, you are wasting your time on teenagers!!! Adopt a 50-year-old and we can do ALL SORTS of father-son things together....I just happen to be
available....and I would be tremendously grateful...heck, just a few months ago I was turned down by a certain heartless Texan who just turned me away without
so much as a free lunch!! Geeze!!
I have a background in engineering and fabrication, I don't drink, carouse, smoke or even curse (well not too much). I have good (well, decent) personal hygene, can both read and write, have been breaking and fixing cars for more than 30 years and can drive the transporter...heck, I'll be cheaper on your auto insurance. Please don't disappoint me, Jeff. The wonders of HSR racing with our (hmmm YOUR) new CanAm car awaits. Tom

Next weekend | #14 | ||
|
Jeff, I will be passing by your way in a week or so. I am stopping off for a night in Milwaukee to visit my best friend, who runs a race prep shop on Old Brown
Deer Road(?).
Then a week later, I'll be hauling back and staying over again for a night, then dropping by to see Brian Lindstrand's . If you are around, let's get together for a dinner, a beer, or a coffee. Ping me, please, at towenster@gmail.com and I'll confirm the specifics. Maybe you can adopt me later next year...when you have more time....I suck at Volleyball, but am a nationally-ranked "veteran" skiier.... Tom |
